Presidential Secretariat Building Model

This is an experimental work, modelling Paper-Chip boards into organic details of neoclassical architecture. This was done as a study of façade details of the presidential secretariat building at Galleface, Sri Lanka.

The building was erected in 1930, to house the legislative council of (then) British Ceylon. Thereafter, this building was used mainly as the Parliament of Sri Lanka until 1983, hence giving it the popular nickname "Old Parliament"

The 80 Club Model

The 80 Club is one of the oldest clubs of Colombo. This unique and iconic landmark still sits in its grandeur within the heart of modernized Colombo.

In here, we have endeavoured to adapt the elaborate timber façade details of the 80 Club building in 1:100 scale, using craft boards.

Holiday Home Model

This is made for an architectural design presentation for a holiday home, catering for guests within a mountainous site. This is a quick-to-build model, using plain colour materials.

As an architectural model, this is a bit different from building just a miniature of an already completed building. This involved a lot of technical representation of scale, which was a part of an iterative process of design-and-build.

Resort Model

This is a 1:200 scale model, made for an architectural design presentation. It is a resort designed on a mountainous land, as a premise with multiple buildings.

Firstly we built the terrain using contours and then provided a back and forth discussion with the architect using the model to develop the design. The use of a model to test design options was much faster than scale drawings and 3D (computer) models.

VMD Model

This is built for a mountainside residence design, overlooking the lake Victoria at Digana, Kandy (Sri Lanka) with a stunning view.

As a team with a deep passion for what we do, we enjoyed making the close-to-realistic textures of prominent building materials like granite rubble walls, wooden decks, roof tiles, and also the greenery. We used innovative ways to get the most realistic model, in spite of the time and effort needed to do that.

Other Models

Architecture, urban planning and interior design undergraduates usually have to meet harsh, unforgiving deadlines for their submissions. These are a few of our quick-to-build models made for student projects.

Here in PMMS, we understand your requirement and endeavour to build your project model with lightning speed, so that you can focus on your design, and ace through that submission without much trouble.
